Recovery

We've been sick, our whole family in varying degrees, since Easter. I've taken a few long, long walks, pushing the stroller all over town, but have otherwise not exercised lately. The good news is that I ate very little Easter candy - almost none.

I'm still sick with a bad flu bug - the third I've caught since just before Easter, and am recovering from pink eye as well. Every time I exert myself the least little bit to clean, shop, or babysit, as I started doing lately, I come down with something.

I weighed myself on the WiiFit today. My goal, three months ago, was to have lost about four pounds a month. So far, I've lost 2 1/2 lbs. Total. That's all gains and losses considered.

Just wanted to write it down somewhere so I can look back and realized how far I've come, or how slow the going is. Today, I'm satisfied if I can just last a week or two and not hack up a lung or crumble in a heap of infectious ooze. My goal right now is to stay well until mine and Paul's anniversary in May. It'll be our ten year anniversary (!!!! :)))), and we have a few nice plans. I want to be well enough to enjoy it!

Lent failure

Alright so the whole lent thing sounded like a good idea and I did great for a week!! Then my period came. And I needed chocolate I had to have it. So I gave in to my PMS and fed it what it wanted. I have so many things I need to give up. I also need to get back on my wii fit. I have no clue how much I gained. GGRR!! Being a woman can ruin your best attempts at losing weight. Alas I will try again. I did good til I lost enough to fit back into my pants and now I m comfy again. Time to try on clothes that are the next size down to get my butt in gear. Good luck to us all.

No Pain, I Gain

I took six days off from the Wii Fit. I took a long walk one of those days. I got back on the Wii scale today and I'd gained three and a half pounds in six days. I also looked in the mirror just now and have a ton more grey hair and wrinkes than I remember having last time I dyed my hair (a month ago). I'm not amused. I'm also not enthused.

In the perpetual freezing temperatures, I think my body's inner barometer is set for "Pre-Hibernation Gorging Mode." Whatever the problem, I can always think of something other than myself to blame it on. Perhaps one of the reasons I can't lose weight this week, though, is that I am FED UP with myself. Cranky.

Foods to remove from my diet:

-chips
-cheese
-chips with cheese on them
-Apple Jacks
-sweetened granola
-'Scotch Krispie Treats (think Rice Krispies Treats, but waaaaaaaaay better, and with way more fat and calories)
-Wonka Bottlecaps
-butter

What has been keeping me entertained the last six days:

books
all of the above

Dorothy, I sincerely wish you much weight loss success in light of your Lent sacrifices.

And with that, I'm off to bed. The Wii can crab at me tomorrow about my sleeping habits.

Wiitastic

Hey we got a wii fit too. But I have not been able to use it in a while. I love using it but I jurt my back and then got sick. And now I am energyless and jusst lay around. Mainly because I have been drinking pop and eating sweets. Why you may ask? Because tomorrow is lent. I am giving up pop and sweets. So I ahve been having Fat Tuesday for the past week and I can really feel it.

I had been eating so well that eating like crap is really noticeable. I feel sluggish and yucky. I think that once i get rid of that stuff all will be better. I will let you all know Next week if I feel better. I am going to get back on the wii and burn off those pounds. To losing weight!! HEAR HEAR!! :)

Are Wii Fit Yet?

We got a Wii Fit. We couldn't really afford it, but it's cheaper than a gym membership or a treadmill, and a whole lot more accessible and usable with the space we have. It's fun, fun, fun. Though I'm rather uncoordinated and unbalanced, I seem to do very well with yoga poses and have good stamina.

This past week has been disastrously delicious as far as dietary habits go. I've been to no less than four birthday parties (two for my daughter and two for friends) and celebrated Valentine's Day with cheese cake and candy. I skipped the cake and ice cream on my own birthday this week, but made up for it with plenty of cake sneaked for breakfast, lunch, and midnight snacks.

For the record, here's what the absolutely, 100% guaranteed accurate (well, pretty darn good) Wii says about me:

I started out on Feb. 15th with a BMI of 26.04 and about 9 1/2 lbs to lose to reach a healthy BMI.

As of today, Feb. 18th, my weight and BMI have risen slightly to 26.4-something and 10.1 lbs to lose.

I'm not too concerned, considering this is the week before my period. But my goal is to lose about a pound a week for the next two months, and so far, no good. Maybe next week I'll lose two pounds?

Yes, I'm a yo-yo who has plenty of trouble not gaining and losing the same 15 pounds every year. Winter is a waistline KILLER for me because I CRAVE foods that help me keep a layer of fat, and have very little desire for the fresh vegetables I crave when it's hot outside. And with the kids' constant barrage of colds, I can't take them outside for walks, let alone leave the house myself. The Wii has come in mighty handy during these three months of perpetual illness.

Oops kept forgetting.

Well I have been pretty good I have lost a total of 11 lbs. I am super excited, but this is a bad week fo me, PERIOD WEEK!!! All chocolate hide or you will be eaten. I have decided that I am going to start participating in lent again. I am going to be giving up soda pop and all unneccesary sugars (ie candy, cakes, cookies). I am close to getting a wii fit and hope that it will help me to excersice more because it is so much fun. I am going to be writing more often in the blog because I canceled my weight watchers cause I don't really use it and the 3 months is up. I learned a lot and will keep on using the tools. I am also reading "You: On a Diet" by Dr. Oz it is an awesome tool. I am excited for warmer weather and the chance to go outside and play witht kids and go for walks to the beach. This is the year of change for me. 2009 the year I get healthy :).

Helloooo! I can hear an echo!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's been neglecting my post(s). I'll sum up my winter weight loss efforts quickly: Bad Habits. All of them. Haven't taken walks. Eaten plenty of fattening, sugary, starchy, empty calories. I always do well with my fiber intake, but otherwise? Cheesecake, cookies, marshmallows, chocolate. You get the idea. I've only taken three or four walks since the snow first fell. Sunny weather has returned, and eventually we'll all be over our colds and I can go out walking again. I went to the doctor in November and found out I weighed 155. I haven't weighed myself since then.

What's new with you?
