Are Wii Fit Yet?

We got a Wii Fit. We couldn't really afford it, but it's cheaper than a gym membership or a treadmill, and a whole lot more accessible and usable with the space we have. It's fun, fun, fun. Though I'm rather uncoordinated and unbalanced, I seem to do very well with yoga poses and have good stamina.

This past week has been disastrously delicious as far as dietary habits go. I've been to no less than four birthday parties (two for my daughter and two for friends) and celebrated Valentine's Day with cheese cake and candy. I skipped the cake and ice cream on my own birthday this week, but made up for it with plenty of cake sneaked for breakfast, lunch, and midnight snacks.

For the record, here's what the absolutely, 100% guaranteed accurate (well, pretty darn good) Wii says about me:

I started out on Feb. 15th with a BMI of 26.04 and about 9 1/2 lbs to lose to reach a healthy BMI.

As of today, Feb. 18th, my weight and BMI have risen slightly to 26.4-something and 10.1 lbs to lose.

I'm not too concerned, considering this is the week before my period. But my goal is to lose about a pound a week for the next two months, and so far, no good. Maybe next week I'll lose two pounds?

Yes, I'm a yo-yo who has plenty of trouble not gaining and losing the same 15 pounds every year. Winter is a waistline KILLER for me because I CRAVE foods that help me keep a layer of fat, and have very little desire for the fresh vegetables I crave when it's hot outside. And with the kids' constant barrage of colds, I can't take them outside for walks, let alone leave the house myself. The Wii has come in mighty handy during these three months of perpetual illness.
